The goal of the application & Design
As part of my Research and Data Analysis in Information Technology course (LIS3201), I collaborated on developing a proposal for a mobile application designed to improve communication between patients and physicians. The app, created for a mock company, aimed to bridge the gap in patient care by streamlining interactions, improving accessibility, and fostering a more user-friendly experience for all stakeholders involved. For this project, I conducted extensive research on app development costs, consumer behavior trends, and market analysis to ensure the product’s feasibility and relevance. I also applied design principles to create a detailed prototype that aligned with the needs of both patients and physicians, emphasizing intuitive navigation and user-centric functionality. Additionally, I worked on crafting a professional presentation to pitch the concept to stakeholders, effectively communicating the app’s value proposition and business potential. Through this experience, I strengthened my skills in research, data analysis, market evaluation, prototyping, and stakeholder communication. It was a comprehensive exercise in combining technical and creative problem-solving to design a meaningful solution in the health tech space.

The goal of the application & Design
As part of a database design project for my Information Technology coursework, I collaborated with a team to create a detailed Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD) for a rental service system. This project required us to design a robust database architecture capable of managing various entities, including customers, rentals, vehicles, locations, and employees, while ensuring seamless integration and scalability for real-world application. My primary role was to analyze the relationships between entities and design an efficient data structure that addressed both the business logic and user requirements. One of the main challenges was ensuring the database accurately modeled complex relationships, such as linking rental histories to customers and locations while maintaining data integrity. Balancing simplicity with functionality was another significant obstacle, as we had to consider real-world constraints like customer pricing plans, maintenance records, and employee certifications.Through this project, I honed my technical skills in database design, data normalization, and using modeling tools to visualize complex systems. Additionally, I improved my soft skills, including collaboration, problem-solving, and clear communication, as we worked as a team to identify assumptions and refine the ERD iteratively. This experience has prepared me for future roles by deepening my understanding of relational database management and enhancing my ability to think critically about data-driven solutions in a collaborative setting.

I developed a functional News Reader App for Android, coded in Java, to provide users with real-time news updates through an intuitive and streamlined interface. The app leverages an RSS feed to aggregate headlines from trusted news sources, allowing users to browse, preview, and access full articles seamlessly. This project focused on creating a smooth Android experience by implementing dynamic data retrieval, RSS feed parsing, and designing a user interface optimized for readability and interaction. Users can easily navigate between a list of headlines, article previews, and a built-in browser to view the full story without leaving the app.Through this project, I enhanced my skills in Java programming, Android development, UI/UX design for mobile platforms, and data integration. This hands-on experience deepened my understanding of mobile app development and prepared me for tackling more complex applications in the future.
